Why “Nancy’s Class?” Because this seminar was my wife’s idea!
Contact us to ask how you can host a seminar.
Our most often offered course is Basic Handgun. It is designed for beginners as well as people who have handled handguns previously but have never had any formal training in the safe and proper handling of handguns.
While our course is not an official NRA course, it is very similar. At this time we do not offer this course in an official NRA capacity because many of our customers are interested in learning how to safely use handguns for self-defense. While we love our friends at the NRA, give them full credit for many of the advancements in gun rights and strongly encourage all of our customers to support the NRA with membership, the NRA rightly imposes certain restrictions on their official classes. Those restrictions include a prohibition on use of certain targets and a prohibition on discussion of certain subject matter.
Since many of our customers are interested in learning about handguns for self-defense, we believe we owe it to them to add an element of that to our Basic Handgun course. Because we add that element, we cannot call it an “official” NRA class.
Participants in our Basic Handgun course will learn the universal safety rules and their application to every-day handling of a firearm. In a self-defense oriented atmosphere, we discuss the fundamentals of shooting, handgun terminology and nomenclature, various holster configurations and their uses, and ammunition configurations.
Participants are introduced to safe gun handling through dry fire drills using dummy ammunition and progress into live fire drills with live ammunition.
Our certified instructors work with participants to troubleshoot accuracy issues and other shooting issues and work with the participants to ensure resolutions.
Participants need to bring:
· Your PA License to Carry Firearms
· Eye Protection
· Hearing Protection
· Baseball Cap
· Revolver or Pistol
· 100 Rounds of Factory Ammunition for your Handgun
· Lunch
A certificate of completion is awarded upon successful completion of the course.
The fee for Basic Handgun is $100.00 ($105 when paying online). White Horse Nation also has a limited number of handguns that are available for people that want to take a class but have not yet purchased a handgun. If you use one of our guns the fee is $150 ($155 if paying online) and we supply the ammunition.

Our Level 1 Defensive Handgun Course (L1DH) is suitable for people who have already had our Basic Handgun Course or an equivalent. It is specifically designed for those who want to become more proficient with their handgun and more comfortable carrying a handgun for self-defense.
As any quality firearms course should, we start out with a review of safety and proper gun handling and then progress into discussion regarding mental preparation and legal aspects involved with carrying a handgun for self-defense. A section of this discussion is geared toward the goal of avoiding trouble in the first place so that a self-defense situation is averted if at all possible. We believe that teaching our participants how to avoid a gunfight is just as important as teaching them how to use their handgun in a gunfight that they cannot avoid.
The human body can react in many different ways to the stress and adrenalin surge of a gunfight. Our participants will learn what to expect from their bodies and mind during a lethal encounter so they can better prepare themselves mentally and approach their training from the proper perspective.
Participants will learn and practice drawing and firing from the holster as well as shooting from cover and shooting on the move. They also learn and practice reloading procedures and malfunction resolution techniques necessary for staying in the fight.
We take pride in preparing our participants for the real world. Any use of a handgun for self-defense will ultimately end up with police involvement. We discuss what you should do when the police arrive, tell you what to expect during the interaction with law enforcement and provide experienced advice on what to do and what not to do during your interaction with the police.

Our Level 2 Defensive Handgun Course (L2DH) is for people who have already had our Level 1 Defensive Handgun (L1DH) course.
It is designed for citizen warriors who want to increase their skill level and become more comfortable with concealed carry.
L2DH begins with a brief refresher on the Universal Rules and safe gun handling. We then build off the knowledge from the L1DH class and talk about what one might expect during the weeks and months after a lethal encounter.
Knowing what kind of threat you might be facing is critical. This course includes block of instruction on recognizing what kind of threat you might be facing and how those threats might be best handled.
As we emphasized in our L1DH, White Horse Nation, LLC sincerely believes that teaching people how to avoid a gunfight is every bit as important as preparing them how to win a gun fight that they cannot avoid. We’ll discuss ways to avoid conflict and introduce students to conflict de-escalation skills that may prevent a life changing lethal encounter.
During the course of fire shooters will learn and practice drawing their gun from concealed carry, reloading and malfunction drills with both the strong and support hands and close quarters, one handed shooting.
Most shootings occur in low light environments. To prepare our students for the reality of a lethal encounter, the L2DH course of fire includes instruction and live fire in low light conditions. CLASS PARTICIPANTS WILL NEED TO BRING A SMALL TACTICAL FLASHLIGHT FOR THIS PART OF THE CLASS.
Police departments make officers qualify with their handgun because they know that officers involved in shootings will be questioned regarding their proficiency. It’s no different for civilians. For that reason, we wrap up the L2DH course of fire with a police qualification course that will be scored. Please note that this qualification course challenging and it is expected that not everyone will obtain a passing score. If time allows, shooters may be given one additional attempt to qualify.

Mass shootings, at schools and businesses, are a tragic occurrence. Like other tragedies, we learn from the mistakes made by others and we adjust our response to save lives. The days of “Lockdown”, and hoping that the evil doesn’t make it to you, have long since passed. We know now that hiding in place is sometimes the worst thing to do. We also know now that taking offensive action, when necessary to survive, absolutely saves lives.
The RUN, HIDE, FIGHT concept has replaced lockdown as the universal response to acts of violence being perpetrated against occupied buildings whether they are business locations or institutions of learning.
RHF is similar to the ALICE training offered by Navigate 360 with one glaring, important difference. The “C” in ALICE stands for Counter and, per the ALICE website, Counter “focuses on actions that create noise, movement, distance and distraction with the intent of reducing the shooter’s ability to shoot accurately.” That simply isn’t good enough anymore. The “F” in RHF stands for Fight and it teaches that if the aggressor comes to you, if it looks like you’re going to be a victim anyway, then as a last resort -and we stress that- you FIGHT, with anything you have and everything in you, no rules.
After the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL students in a large Blair County high school were surveyed and asked what their greatest concern or fear was. The number one concern voiced by those students was that no one had ever told them what to do or how to react when faced with the evil of mass violence.
White Horse Nation, and owner Wayne Bush, have trained thousands of students and staff at local school districts on the Run, Hide, Fight concept. We are passionate about it. Let us come and teach your students, staff or corporate employees how to have the best chance at surviving an act of mass violence. Don’t they deserve a fighting chance?
Contact us to find out how you can give the people you love the best chance of survival.
After every mass shooting we hear witnesses describe the gunfire as balloons popping, cars backfiring, pounding on lockers, books dropping, fireworks, etc, etc. We seldom hear witnesses say that they immediately knew it was gunfire. Precious seconds are wasted. Kristina Anderson, a survivor of the Virginia Tech shooting, still the worst attack on an (the “high score”) academic institution in American history, said that she thought the gunfire was someone “chopping wood.” That gunfire was just outside her classroom and yet no one recognized it as gunfire in time. Her classroom suffered the most victims with 12 dead. Anderson suffered 3 gunshot wounds in the attack.
We’re conditioned by Hollywood to assume that gunfire will be deafening, loud and immediately recognizable. Like many gun related issues, Hollywood’s depiction and reality differ.
The reality is that gunfire inside a building may sound like anything but. A shotgun blast just outside the window of your building may sound, as one high school principal described after our training, “like a bird hit my window.”
Teachers debriefed after one training session commented that it was some of the best, and most useful, training they had ever had.
White Horse Nation can come to your building and safely use movie grade blank ammunition to educate your staff on what rifles, shotguns and handguns really sounds like from various locations throughout your building. Knowing what it sounds like can save valuable seconds when those seconds are most precious.
Contact us to have us come to your location and give your staff a better chance at survival.
You’re in church and a madman walks in and starts to shoot people at random; or maybe some shady looking characters stand up and start to disrupt the service; or a tornado warning sounds during Sunday service; or maybe that kind lady that sits in the second pew from the front suddenly slumps over… will your congregation know what to do?
White Horse Nation has a simple one hour seminar that can start your church on the road to planning for any emergency.
We offer this seminar as a faith offering. If you want to pay us for it afterward, fine. If not, that's completely fine too. We just feel better knowing that we’ve given you the best chance at planning for emergencies.
Contact us to set up a seminar.
White Horse Nation can provide short term security for property or persons that requires minimal manpower. Because of that, we can probably protect your assets for less than the bigger companies with more overhead. We are not set up to do large contracts or events.
Contact us to see if we can help you.
You know you need to make improvements to your security at your place of business or worship, but you don’t even know where to start. Let us help.
We can come to your location and conduct a survey and send you a written report with recommendations that can help you prioritize your needs.
Contact us to arrange a survey.
White Horse Nation can conduct training and qualifications for HR 218, the federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) in compliance with the PA Retired Law Enforcement ID Act (RLEIA).
The cost is $50 plus $20 for each additional gun. We are currently able to schedule short notice qualifications in an indoor range year-round.
We’re also able to schedule groups.
